The fifth and final season of the American television drama series Breaking Bad premiered on July 15, 2012, and concluded on September 29, 2013 on AMC in the United and Canada. The 16-episode season is split into two parts, each containing eight episodes. The first part of the season was broadcast from July 15 to September 2, 2012, and aired on Sundays at 10:00 pm ET. The second part was broadcast from August 11 to September 29, 2013, aired on Sundays at 9:00 pm.[9] It debuted in the UK and Ireland on Netflix, showing one day after the episodes aired in the U.S. and Canada.
After receiving three nominations, for seasons two, three, and four, the first half of season 5 won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series in 2013.

"Felina" is the series finale of the American television drama series Breaking Bad. It is the sixteenth episode of season five and the 62nd overall episode of the series. Written and directed by series creator Vince Gilligan, it aired on AMC in the United States and Canada on September 29, 2013.

Reception:-

Upon airing, the episode was praised by critics and fans alike, with critics agreeing that the finale lived up to the hype that has been generated around it. In her review of "Felina", Donna Bowman of A.V. Club gave the episode an A rating, writing that, "Walt’s purpose is fulfilled, and he just stops". Seth Amitin at IGN also praised the episode, calling it fully satisfying and awarding it a score of 9.8 out of 10.  Katey Rich agreed with the above sentiments, calling the episode "a deeply satisfying and surprisingly emotional finale". Nick Harley wrote "With its final episode, Breaking Bad cemented itself as essential viewing for fans of all forms of storytelling, presenting a character arc for its protagonist that challenged and rewarded the audience for taking the whole captivating journey with him."

The fourth season of Breaking Bad received universal acclaim from critics, garnering a 96 out of 100 on Metacritic. The Boston Globe referred to the show as a "taut exercise in withheld disaster" and declared the show "riveting". The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette labelled the series "smart and thought provoking that elevates the artistic achievements of the medium". Season four was listed by many critics as one of the best seasons of television in 2011. Time listed Walter White's "I am the one who knocks" line as one of the best television lines of 2011. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette listed it as the best series of 2011 while noting that, "Breaking Bad is that rare TV series that has never made a seriously damaging storytelling misstep." The A.V. Club's review of the finale summed it up as a "fantastically fitting end for a season that ran in slow motion, starting and continuing with so many crises begging for resolution week after week. Now the decks are cleared, but that doesn't mean anybody is home free. Nothing's ever easy on Breaking Bad." The reviewer continued to exalt the season, and proclaimed, "What a season of television — truly something none of us could ever have expected, or claimed we deserved." Best-selling author Noah Charney called it "the best show on television" and compared it to great works of literature for its three-dimensional characters and combination of action, drama, and dark comedy.

"Granite State" is the fifteenth episode of the fifth season of the American television drama series Breaking Bad, and the 61st and penultimate episode of the series. Written and directed by Peter Gould, it aired on AMC in the United States on September 22, 2013.

Story:-

As the episode starts, Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) is seen stepping out of the red minivan to receive a new identity, and learns that his bunkmate is Walt (Bryan Cranston). Walt tries to talk to Saul about putting hits out on Jack and his men, so that he can recover his stolen money, but Saul cannot do anything to help since he has a new identity and is no longer a lawyer. Saul unsuccessfully attempts to advise Walt into staying in New Mexico, and tells Walt "It's over" when he begins to have a coughing fit.
Meanwhile, Jack and his men have raided the Schrader household in order to find Jesse's confession tape. Todd and Jack's men break into the White household, and Todd threatens Skyler not to mention anything about Lydia, or else they will break back in again. Jesse, using the paper clip from the picture of Andrea and Brock, manages to take off his ankle and hand cuffs, and escapes from the dungeon, only to be caught by Jack's men as he reaches the fence. To ensure Jesse will not attempt to escape again, Todd executes Andrea as Jesse watches in the backseat of the vehicle, and Todd threatens Brock's life if he tries again.
Walt is taken to New Hampshire by Saul's man (Robert Forster), who tells Walt that he cannot stop him from leaving, but if he does, he will not be coming back. The time jumps several months to show Saul's man returning from a supply run and Walt is seen sporting a head full of hair and a beard (like in the flashfoward), but still on chemotherapy. Saul's man informs Walt that Skyler is going by her maiden name and the family has moved away, and the White household has been fenced in since it has become a tourist attraction because of Heisenberg's notoriety . Walt packs a box full of money and Ensure bottles and heads out to a local bar. Walt has a barmaid call Walt Jr's school pretending to be Marie, so that Walt can tell Jr. his plan to send $100,000 to one of Walt Jr.'s friends to avoid the police confiscating it, but that the money is meant for the family. Jr. angrily refuses the money and tells his father "Why don't you just die already?", hanging up the phone. Walt then calls the DEA office with news on his ongoing case and leaves the phone off the hook. While in the bar, he sees Elliot and Gretchen Schwartz talking on TV about Gray Matter. Elliot tells the interviewer that the only thing Walt contributed was the company name as an angry Walt looks on. As police raid the bar, Walt is gone and the only thing remaining is his glass and a tip.

Story:-

Jack and his team remain unscathed while Agent Gomez lies dead and Hank has been shot in the thigh. Hank makes an attempt to fight further but is disarmed by Jack. Walt begs him not to shoot Hank, offering Jack and crew $80 million in cash in exchange for Hank's life. Jack kills Hank by delivering a fatal shot to the head, and his men dig up all seven barrels, leaving one for Walt. Before Jesse is taken as a hostage, so that he can cook with Todd, Walter tells him he watched Jane die. He tries to leave the desert with the $11 million Jack left him with in his car, but winds up rolling the barrel through the desert to an old man's house where he purchases an old truck with some of his money. Marie tells Skyler that Hank has Walt in custody, and Skyler agrees to tell the truth to Walt Jr. When they return home, they find Walt packing and insisting the family leave immediately. Skyler resists, and Walt leaves with Holly. After an Amber Alert is issued, he calls Skyler and tells her no one will see Hank again and not to cross him like Hank did. Walt tells Skyler he "still has things left to do." He leaves Holly at a fire station and assumes a new identity through Saul's contact.

Tim Goodman praised the writing, acting, and cinematography, pointing out the "visual adventurousness" of the series. Goodman went on to call the show's visuals as "a combination of staggering beauty - the directors make use of numerous wide-angle landscape portraits — and transfixing weirdness." After the finale aired, The A.V. Club said that season three was "one of television's finest dramatic accomplishments. And what makes it so exciting — what makes the recognition of the current golden age so pressing — is that the season has not been, as [another reviewer] put it in another context, 'television good.' The heart-in-the-throat quality of this season comes as much from the writers' exhilarating disregard for television conventions as from the events portrayed."

Story:-

Lydia is unsatisfied with Todd's cook; the product is only 76% pure and lacks the blue hue. She demands that these issues be resolved. Walt calls Todd to negotiate a hit on Jesse. Meanwhile, Jesse attempts to learn the whereabouts of Walter's money through Huell. Hank and agent Gomez visit Huell, convincing him that Walt killed Jesse and will kill Huell next. Todd's uncle agrees to carry out the hit on the condition that Walt cook again so that Todd can observe him. Walt attempts to lure Jesse out of hiding by having Andrea leave him a concerned message. Hank intercepts the message, however. Aware that Walt has buried his money somewhere, Hank stages a photo to convince Walt that he found the money. Walt immediately panics upon seeing the image, and is called by Jesse who tells him that he's found the cash and plans to burn it all. As Walt frantically drives to To'hajiilee where the money is buried, he desperately pleads with Jesse to reconsider, unintentionally confessing to various murders. He arrives to find no one there. Realizing he's been tricked, he hides as Hank, Gomez, and Jesse approach. Walt calls Todd's uncle and demands that he and his crew come to his rescue at once. Upon seeing who has come, however, he orders them off, resolving to give himself up. He comes out of hiding and surrenders, but Todd's uncle and his crew arrive. Walter begins screaming at them to leave, but seeing that Walt is in custody, they draw their weapons. After a standoff, both sides open fire as Jesse, in Walt's vehicle, and Walt, in Hank's Suburban, cower down and attempt to avoid the fusillade of bullets.

After arriving back at his home, Walt finds Saul's car haphazardly crashed in his driveway. He then sneaks into the house expecting to find Jesse, only to find his house doused in gasoline. After hiring a group of carpet cleaners to unsuccessfully wash the gasoline out of the carpet, Walt then douses his own clothes and the seat of his car with it. Just prior to this, he leaves a message on Jesse's machine to meet him in a plaza at noon in order to explain himself. Skyler arrives home and sees a fan propped in the car window. She walks in to see Walt cleaning the carpet and Walt Jr. watching. Walt then spins a story of a pump malfunction at the gas station which covered him in gasoline. Walt Jr. accuses him of lying but he urges he is telling the truth. The family then decides to spend a few days in a hotel which, for Walt, is a safety precaution. At the hotel, Skyler calls Walt out on his lie about the gas station and asks what's really going on. Walt then divulges some of the story with Jesse, assuring he's a danger only to himself. Skyler still perceives him as a threat and says he needs to be dealt with. Backtracking, we see Jesse attempting to light the house on fire when Hank breaks in pointing a gun at him. Hank proposes working together to burn Walt, to which Jesse agrees. Hank then takes him home and, the following morning, records Jesse confessing to everything. Hank, having listened to Walt's message on Jesse's phone the day before, plays Jesse the message and says that they plan to wire him and have Walt confess to Jesse. Upon arriving at the plaza, Jesse walks toward an unarmed Walt sitting on a bench when he spots a thuggish looking bald man standing nearby. Jesse then runs to a nearby payphone and calls Walt's cell phone, telling him "nice try" and that he was going to burn him in some other way. Hank then speeds around the corner in a van and picks up Jesse, who tells Hank that there's a better way to burn Walt. Walt walks past the thuggish looking man who greets his daughter and clearly has no involvement with Walt. After getting in his car, Walt calls Todd to say he has another job for his uncle.
