Reception:-
Dhol opened to receive mixed reviews from top critics. Taran Adarsh rated it 3.5 out of 5, and claimed the film to be amongst director Priyadarshan's best works, and that it was a "hilarious laugh-riot" and "not to be missed!" However, at the box office, the film had an average opening, and grossed a nett 13.50 crores in its opening weekend. Due to the strong word-of-mouth and excellent public response; the film picked up much better in many places, though had a huge drop throughout the second week. It finished its theatrical run very poorly, and unlike its critical reception, it failed to deliver at the box office. The film was declared below average at the box office.
