Dhamaal (English translation: Fun) is a 2007 Bollywood comedy film directed by Indra Kumar and produced by Ashok Thakeria. The film stars Sanjay Dutt, Ritesh Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Javed Jaffrey and Aashish Chaudhary.
The film is an official remake of the 1963 American comedy, It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. It also features influences from other contemporary movies such as Road Trip, Bean - The Movie, Mr. Bean, Rat Race, Dude, Where's My Car? and Johnny English. Dhamaal released on 7 September 2007, and received positive response from critics and public audiences. It also managed to do moderately well at the box office, and was a surprise semi-hit.
In 2011, the film spawned a sequel, under the title of Double Dhamaal, with the lead cast reprising their roles, with new additions to the cast including Kangna Ranaut and Mallika Sherawat. Double Dhamaal didn't manage to attract the attention of many critics, and did average business at the box office unlike its original.
